Workshop: Text Analysis with Word Embeddings

Can algorithms help us become better readers? Digital humanists have been asking this question for decades and as the technology evolves, this question becomes even more important. Machines are already reading and serving content on the web, but how can we better understand what these algorithms do? This workshop will delve into a specific type of “distant reading” algorithm: doc2vec. We will explore what kinds of humanities-based research might be done with this technique.
