“If, Then: Technology and Poetics” November Working Group

November 13, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Our November meeting for the If, Then: Technology and Poetics working group will be Friday, November 13 at 1PM Eastern. The wonderful Chris Martens will be leading a session on their work at NCSU’s POEM (Principles of Expressive Machines) Lab, where Chris and their students are “designing the next generation of programming languages and modeling tools for computational creativity, with a particular focus on game design, storytelling, and collaborative experience creation.” Check out their projects at the POEM Lab’s website here.

Rebecca Uliasz, a doctoral candidate in the CMAC program at Duke University, will also be sharing a forthcoming chapter from her dissertation on charting the ingress of algorithms on artistic production via a genealogy of the pixel.

This will be a chance to brainstorm, collaborate, and get to know each other a little better. For the Zoom link, please contact Carly Schnitzler at cschnitz@email.unc.edu.
