Digital Humanities Nuts and Bolts: From Idea to Sustainable Project at the National Humanities Center

October 2, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

While any number of intriguing and influential digital humanities initiatives have emerged over the past decade, it has become increasingly clear that successful digital efforts must be carefully conceived and managed over time to realize their scholarly potential. This day-long conference, presented by the National Humanities Center, will focus on planning, logistics, and long-term maintenance of digital humanities (DH) projects.

Welcoming experts who employ digital humanities tools and methods in their research and the classroom as well as specialists on project management, sustainability, and the legal and ethical implications of DH, the conference will feature a morning presentation by the directors of the BigDIVA search visualization tool and the Advanced Research Consortium(ARC), “lightning talks” by DH scholars, and sessions on planning and project management. By encouraging participants to “pop the hood” on their DH projects, we hope to foster a vibrant discussion for scholars and digital practitioners from across the humanities.

This event is not affiliated with the Digital Innovation Lab and will be hosted at the National Humanities Center: 7 T.W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC. Please register here by September 28, 2018
